Start of Day Report
For every Narqix team member. After reading this page you will be able to post a start-of-day report (SOD) in under three minutes that tells your lead and client exactly what you will deliver today and what you need from them.
Track: All tracks · Role: Everyone · Time to complete: 10 min
When and where
- When: within 15 minutes of the start of your scheduled shift, after you check in with your campaign's check-in method.
- Where: the place your campaign requires (team channel, client channel or email). Same place, same time, every shift.
- Times: always in the client's time zone, with the zone named.
- Source: the full rules are on the Reporting Standard page in Narqix Standards.

Rules for a strong SOD
- Priorities are outcomes with deadlines. "Clear inbox to under 10 by 11:00 AM ET" beats "inbox".
- Callbacks come first. A promised callback is a promise. List it in your top 3 when one is due early in the shift.
- "Need from you" is specific. Name the decision, the item and the deadline. If you need nothing, say so.
- No customer personal data. Use lead IDs, order numbers or initials, never full names with phone numbers.
Coach's note: Write your SOD before you open your inbox or dialer. Once the day starts pulling at you, you stop planning and start reacting. Three minutes of planning protects the eight hours that follow.
Never do this: Never post a copy of yesterday's SOD with the date changed. Never list a priority you already know you cannot finish today without saying so. If a deadline is at risk, say it in the SOD, not at the end of the shift.
Before you post
- Date and campaign correct
- Every time has the client's time zone
- Callbacks and promises due today are listed
- "Need from you" is specific, or says "nothing right now"
- No customer personal data
Check yourself
- How soon after your shift starts is the SOD due?
- Which time zone do you use in the SOD?
- Rewrite as an outcome with a deadline: "Work on CRM."
- You have a seller callback promised for the first hour of your shift. Where does it go in the SOD?
Answers
- Within 15 minutes of the start of your scheduled shift.
- The client's time zone, with the zone named.
- Example: "Add next-step dates to the 40 records with none, due 3:00 PM ET."
- In the top 3 priorities, and in the "Callbacks and follow-ups due today" line on the calling version.
